Three saxophonists join with a singer/movement artist for a performance that builds on ancient plainsong themes and through free improvisation explores new interpretations of old echoes. Specially filmed images are back projected onto a screen behind the performers, images that capture the atmospheric and visible evidence of the winds that blow on Orkney leading to images of dance movement.
The themes explored revolve around the ancient idea of air being synonymous with a divine spirit that breathes life into all things and brings about creative response – the origin of the word inspiration, or the breathing in of a divine breath.
