25 - Mörsugur: Árnadóttir & Jónsdóttir

Mörsugur is an innovative and enchanting Icelandic opera blending voice, experimental music, and audiovisual art, inspired by a poetic tale by Ragnheiður Erla Björnsdóttir.

Co-created by Ásbjörg Jónsdóttir, Heiða Árnadóttir, and Björnsdóttir, it explores mythic heroines, the contrasts of Icelandic landscapes, and the spaces between memory and the present. Premiered at Dark Music Days 2023 in Harpa, the work combines nonlinear storytelling, diverse vocal styles, electronic and acoustic music, and video art by Ásdís Birna Gylfadóttir to create a rich, immersive theatrical experience.
