Are you passionate about the arts? Have you ever wondered how you can help bring extraordinary events to life, fund education and outreach programs, or commission new creative works for the St Magnus International Festival? Supporting the arts is easier than you might think—and incredibly rewarding.

learn about St Magnus Angels

St Magnus Angels is a unique opportunity for individuals, families, or businesses to directly contribute to the magic of our Festival. Whether it’s sponsoring a concert, commissioning new works of music, art, theatre, or literature, or supporting our educational and community outreach efforts, your involvement makes a tangible difference.

As we approach the 50th anniversary of St Magnus International Festival in 2026, we are gearing up to celebrate this milestone with a special array of:

  • World premieres
  • Performances by emerging talents alongside renowned artists
  • Special projects and performances involving our local community and young people

Your support helps us continue this legacy while ensuring the Festival remains a vibrant and inspiring part of Orkney’s cultural life.

Why Support the Arts?

Each year, we create our Festival programme with the help of public funding, charitable trusts, foundations, sponsorships, and ticket sales. However, it’s the generous support from individuals like you that often enables us to achieve more—bringing new masterpieces to life, nurturing young talent, and inspiring audiences of all ages.

What Does It Take?

You might be surprised to learn that sponsoring a concert, commissioning a work, or funding an education project is often more accessible than you would imagine. It is also a meaningful way to:

  • Commemorate a loved one
  • Celebrate a milestone
  • Leave a lasting legacy in the arts

Imagine being the person who brings future masterpieces to life, helps launch a young performer's career, or enables professional artists to inspire students in the classroom.

Get Involved

Why not join our St Magnus Angels and play a part in the Festival’s story? Whether your interest lies in sponsoring an event, commissioning a creative artist, or supporting our outreach work, we’d love to hear from you.

St Magnus Bequest

Leave a Legacy

A legacy gift, no matter the size, will ensure that future generations can enjoy the work you have bequested to St Magnus International Festival for years to come.

By including the Festival in your Will, you can help sustain our work for years to come—bringing music, theatre, art, and education to audiences and participants across Orkney and beyond.

How Your Gift Can Make an Impact

You may choose to leave your legacy gift for the general purposes of the Festival, allowing us to allocate it where it is most needed. Alternatively, you can specify how you’d like your gift to be used. For example, your bequest could:

  • Fund a special commission
  • Support the development of young musicians through dedicated courses and mentoring
  • Enable a community project that brings creativity and inspiration to local participants

If you wouldd like further information, or to discuss various options, please email Festival Director Alasdair Nicolson.

Thank You for Considering the Future of the Festival.
