Schumann String Quartet, Op. 41 No. 3
A concert of vivid contrast with young Scottish composer Fergus Hall’s music inspired by the tidal flow around Scotland’s coastline alongside Janáček’s intense, dramatic and passionate representation of 700 letters that formed part of his relationship with Kamilla Stosslova who he met in the Moravian resort of Luhačovice. Schumann’s third quartet is part of a burst of activity for string quartet and is dedicated to Mendelssohn.
The Fibonacci Quartet, the only ensemble to win both the First and Audience Prize at the 2024 Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competition, formed at London’s Guildhall School and they perform widely across Europe, including at Wigmore Hall, Berlin Philharmonie, and Edinburgh International Festival. Their performances are celebrated for precision, warmth, and vitality.
