The Ragazze Quartet are known for their extensive collaborative projects with other artforms and musicians but here they return to their roots reflecting upon the pure chamber music of the quartet. Mozart’s quartet is a fresh and vibrant work, the first of his works dedicated to Haydn, whilst Schubert’s late work - partly based on one of his own song - represents a more torrid and intense life experience. Widman’s quartet sits between as an atmospheric sound exploration of string instruments by one of Germany’s leading contemporary composers.
