One of the most iconic choral works of the twentieth century, Carmina Burana has become a well-known work particularly because of some of its music being used in film and TV, but also because its quirky soundworld and ancient Latin texts create a musical landscape that is entirely unique. In this version we have the full battery of percussion and pianos to accompany a work that investigates the fickleness of fortune and wealth, the ephemeral nature of life, the joy of the return of spring and the pleasures and perils of drinking, gluttony, gambling, and lust.
