OPEN DOOR FOR PROPOSALS

For the 2026 Festival we are looking for proposals as part of our HERE MEID THREID for our Johnsmas Foy. We are looking for project ideas from Orkney-based performers and creators; these can be in any performance medium or can be collaborative work that can be presented to a live audience.

WHAT IS THE JOHNSMAS FOY?

Each year, as part of the St Magnus International Festival, we present a showcase of local artistic and performance talent in the Johnsmas Foy, which puts Orkney at the heart of the chosen idea. This year’s project should be on the theme “Air: the wind, the air we breathe" and can consist of live performance, film, installation, collaborations across artforms, and site-specific work.

The chosen proposal will have assistance from the Festival to present the work and it will become part of the 2026 programme of events in June.

Ideas should be presented as written proposals, outlining how the idea meets the theme with an outline of performers and production.
