OPEN DOOR FOR PROPOSALS

This year, we are opening the doors for proposals as part of our HERE MEID THREID for our Johnsmas Foy. We are looking for project ideas from local performers and creators; these can be in any performance medium or collaborative work that can be presented to a live audience.

WHAT IS THE JOHNSMAS FOY?

Each year, as part of the St Magnus International Festival, we present a showcase of local artistic and performance talent in the Johnsmas Foy, putting Orkney at the heart of the chosen idea. This year’s project should be on the theme “Our place on the Earth – the soil, the land, the planet,” and can consist of live performance, film, installation, collaborations across art forms, and site-specific work.

The chosen proposal will receive assistance from the Festival to present the work and will become part of the 2025 programme of events in June.

Ideas should be presented as written proposals, storyboards, or even concepts, which can be developed alongside the Festival team.
