JENNI FAGAN POET
Jenni Fagan grew up in the Scottish care system before moving into homeless accommodation at the age of 16. In 2007, she received a bursary which enabled her to study at the University of Greenwich. She went on to complete a PhD at the University of Edinburgh in 2020.
Her first collection Urchin Belle was published by artisan press Blackheath Books. It sold out almost immediately and was nominated for The Pushcart Prize.
The Dead Queen of Bohemia, 2010, was named the 3AM Poetry Book of the Year. Polygon published The Dead Queen of Bohemia: new and selected poems in 2016.
There’s a Witch in the Word Machine (2018), also on Polygon, was written during a writing residency at the renowned Parisian bookshop Shakespeare and Company, and a further collection Truth, came out on Tangerine Press in 2019.
