The strings of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra present an intense and romantic set of pieces starting with Grieg's fresh, classical hommage 'in olden style' to the 18th century. Pärt's glistening corridors of sound lead us through the romance of Sibelius' work "The Lover". Schoenberg's two lovers' journey through a dark forest takes us from confession to redemption and a radiant climax.
