Three of the finest musicians from Belgium and France bring an elusive programme with the Latvian Peteris Vasks' ethereal sound explorations of landscape at its heart. Beethoven's Trio was named 'ghost' by others but it's slow movement has a dark, searching and other-worldly atmosphere. Schubert's Trio is a classic for this combination of instruments and was one of the composer's last works. It is a powerful and thoughtful reflection late in life.
