A late-night reflective selection of works old and new brings some haunting sounds to the acoustic of St Magnus Cathedral and uses the entirety of its space.   The unusual combination of viola and accordion brings fresh interpretations and new soundscapes to the music of Dowland, Purcell and Britten whilst the young composer Andrew Thomas investigates the full power of this duo’s possibilities.  Joseph Shiner performs two ghostly solos for clarinet and then joins the ensemble for the choreographed ritual of the Lithuanian composer Simas Sapiega’s work Herba.
